Random Movie Facts...

...that swim around in my brain.

1. In Back to the Future, the time machine was originally written as a fridge rather than a car.
2. Sigourney Weaver's real name is Susan, she changed it to Sigourney after a character from the novel The Great Gatsby.
3. Gremlins was originally written as a much darker, straight up horror film. Bits excised from the original script include Gizmo actually becoming the lead Gremlin and Billy entering the house only to be greeted by his mother's head rolling down the stairs. Oh, and the dog died originally too.
4. Arnold Schwarzenegger has won a Golden Globe for acting. Seriously. It was a Best Acting Debut in a Motion Picture for 1976's Stay Hungry.
5. The references to Romero Zombie films go further in Shaun of the Dead than just the title. In one scene, Ed shouts 'We're coming to get you Barbara' down the phone to Shaun's mum. This line is a variation of 'They're coming to get you Barbara' from Night of the Living Dead.

6. In Scream, the Prinicipal played by Henry 'The Fonz' Winkler has a Fonz-like leather jacket in a cupboard in his office. Also in Scream, and in the same scene, the school janitor is called Fred and is dressed like Freddy Krueger. He is played by Wes Craven who directed both Scream and A Nightmare On Elm Street.
7. Although it is considered a classic by many today, back in 1980, the Shining was nominated for two Golden Raspberry (Razzies) Awards. They were for Worst Actress and Worst Director.
8. The slow motion scene at then of Carrie was actually shot backwards. This is given away by the fact you can see cars drive backwards in the background.
9. Orson Welles was only 21 years old when he starred in and directed Citizen Kane. Twenty-bloody-one!
10. Ricardo Montalban and Malcom McDowell both played bad guys in Star Trek Movie. They have also  played the same role of Mr Roarke in the TV show Fantasy Island and it's remake respectively.

What can I say? I was bored.....
